EVERLINK PROCESSING ENVIRONMENT CONTINUED TO WORK WITH HIGH AVAILABILITY DURING DISRUPTION OF TRANSACTIONS PERFORMED BY OPEN SOLUTIONS CARDHOLDERS ON JULY 11 2008 2:33 p.m. TO 4:16 p.m. PDT

EVERLINK Services are happy to report that the Everlink Transaction Processing environment continued to operate normally and at its usual high availability during the service disruption reported by Open Solutions Canada on July 11th at 3:50 p.m. PDT.

The root cause of the disruption, according to Open Solutions Canada, was with the Open Solutions “verification subsystem located at their Oakville offices”.

In a written clarification note to Everlink on July 17th, Open Solutions Canada further confirmed that “..the disruption was resolved by restarting the Open Solutions verification subsystem”.

“The Everlink environment was never implicated or was responsible for the reported disruption. Our robust environment continued to work with its usual high reliability and dependability throughout the reported disruption, which was resolved by Open Solutions by simply resetting their Verification Server. Any suggestions, perceptions or insinuations that the Everlink environment was involved or implicated are totally unfounded and inaccurate”, says Carlo Tuzi, VP of Technical Architecture, Everlink Services.

The original Open Solutions email bulletin of Friday July 11th 2008, reported that “...there was service disruption on Friday July 11, 2008 from approximately 2:33 PM PDT to 4:16 PM PDT due to a PIN verification error between Everlink and Open Solutions. During the disruption transactions performed by Open Solutions cardholders on ATMs not on the Open Solutions switch were declined with a code 96 (system malfunction). POS transactions are not affected by this issue…”.
