EVERLINK ENHANCES ITS AWARD-WINNING FRAUD PRODUCT – LOCK’N’BLOCK® 3.0

MARKHAM, ON, MARCH 9, 2021 – Everlink Payment Services Inc. is pleased to announce that Lock’N’Block®, one of Everlink’s award-winning fraud management solutions, now offers new features reflective of today’s digital payments environment with new self-serve options to automate the card replacement process for our clients.

Lock’N’Block® was initially launched in 2015, designed to be integrated within clients’ mobile banking app. This empowered members to control their debit cards by providing self-serve lock options to mitigate counterfeit fraud by blocking all transactions based on type or geography. The Lock’N’Block® solution was an innovative, ground-breaking solution which has since become typical of self-serve functionality end-users expect and demand from their financial institutions. Expanding on the original four-block options offered by Lock’N’Block®, with the enhancements announced today, Lock’N’Block® supports nine different lock options as well as the ability to set ATM and POS limits, and allows cardholders to report their cards either lost or stolen via the Lock’N’Block® app, without having to contact their financial institution.

The new lost or stolen card reporting feature leverages existing infrastructure to notify banking hosts of the Card Activation File (CAF) status change. This ensures that the financial institution can initiate the card reissuance process with minimal manual intervention. Exposing this self-serve option within the banking app reduces inbound call volumes to the call center, while automation of the card replacement process ensures the physical card is back in the cardholder’s hands in the shortest possible timeframe. The ease of use, the security of the account, and automation possibilities all make this a sought-after solution that will significantly benefit every financial institution and their members/customers.

The latest version of Lock’N’Block® also offers lock options for mobile and Interac Flash® payment methods. Placing a “lock” against mobile payment type “blocks” all mobile payments for cardholders who do not use this payment method. Placing a “lock” against contactless payments “blocks” all Interac Flash® payments. With recent increases in Flash limits by Interac, this lock may be utilized by cardholders who wish to ensure that each transaction is authenticated by their PIN, therefore, minimizing risk and potential for fraud from lost/stolen cards.
