Executive Leadership Team


Mark has been leading Everlink’s broad portfolio in the highly competitive payments solutions business since October, 2007, serving over 98% of credit unions, over 55% of consumer-facing schedule 1 & 2 banks, as well as 32,000 merchants and close to 5 million cardholders across Canada — connecting them all worldwide via Interac®, Mastercard®, Visa® and many other payment networks.
Under Mark’s leadership, Everlink has transformed into a very successful, industry-leading, broadly diversified and highly respected Payments Solutions provider, growing in excess of 12% CAGR (5-year avg.) in an industry generally growing at approx. 3%. Located in Markham, Ontario, Canada, Everlink offers a comprehensive suite of innovative payments solutions through 8 “Lines of Business” — Payment Network Gateway Services, ATM Managed Services, Card Issuance & Management, Fraud Management, Mobile Payments, Retail & SME Solutions, Digital Solutions, and Professional Services.
With a wealth of experience and expertise in business and IT leadership, Mark has held key executive positions in several leading companies all across Canada — as a CIO for over 17 years, and as a CEO for over 11 years.
Mark completed a Bachelor of Administration with Distinction (Honors) at the University of Regina as well as a graduate certificate program in Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He has served on numerous Boards of Directors, currently on the Board of Cortex Business Solutions (CBX on TSX Venture). In addition, Mark has served on numerous industry associations and charitable organizations, and is a frequent speaker at trade shows, conferences and executive seminars speaking on a variety of management, leadership and industry-specific topics.


Michelle Burger, Vice President, Business Solutions & Partnerships for Everlink, has nearly two decades of experience serving Canadian credit unions and banks. Michelle specializes in Card Provisioning, Fraud Mitigation along with Client Services & Support. Michelle has an in-depth knowledge of the payments industry. Among numerous other accomplishments, Michelle has maintained a rule-based fraud solution, played an integral role in building a Fraud Call Center from the ground up, managed vendor relationships for card provisioning and fraud management as well as years of experience in client service and support, including call center management.


Romi Kohli has over 25 years of experience in the payments and banking industry. Romi has also been heavily active in the Fintech industry. More recently, Romi had co-founded Fintainium in the US, providing payment service to small/mid-size businesses in the US and Canada.
Romi’s current role as Vice President of Development, PMO, and Innovation focused on developing Everlink’s Digital Solutions. Everlink’s next-generation integrated digital platform enables real-time payments for Retail Peer-to-Peer (P2P), Business (B2B/B2P) Payments, ISO20022 Payment Gateways, and API Integrations for Financial Institutions, Services Providers, and Fintechs. In addition, the platform will serve as a multiservice API gateway supporting business tool applications (i.e. Invoicing, bill payments), AML/KYC, and Fraud APIs for Financial Institutions, Services Providers, and Fintechs.
His innovative and entrepreneurial successes are rooted in his solid and award-winning technical acumen in payments technology along with an agile technical skillset that includes DevOps, cloud computing, and BlockChain. Previously, Romi has held senior positions as VP of Technology and Operations at Interac®, where he oversaw eTransfer, Mobile payments and other core products. Romi also had a prior role at Everlink as the VP of Technology, a position that won innovation awards. He also served as Start-up Advisor for The BlockchainHub at York University.


Prior to his role as VP, Business Development and Marketing, Mark Witkowicz was a Senior Account Executive for Everlink, where he was responsible for client engagement, satisfaction and growth for Everlink’s Eastern Canadian credit union, bank and SME clients. He is a seasoned veteran of the industry with over 16 years of payments and mobile experience. Prior to Everlink, Mark held the position of VP of Payments & Mobile with Rycom Inc., where he managed their payment gateway services for Canada’s largest payment processors. Mark also has a strong networking background holding key business development positions at Extreme Networks, Nortel Networks, Olicom Inc. and CrossComm Inc. Mark is an honours graduate of York University with a Bachelor of Economics & Business degree.


Carlo joined Everlink in January 2006 with the acquisition of the CGI electronic processing business. Carlo is Vice President of Technology with responsibilities for our data centre operations and infrastructure.
Carlo is a 26-year veteran in the electronic transaction processing environment and was responsible for the switching operations with CGI Services to Credit Unions business unit, and formerly with Co-Operators Data Services Limited (CDSL).
Carlo’s expertise is highly regarded within the technology services industry having earned this recognition from his many years of contribution to the national credit union system and Interac Association. During his tenure he participated in the initial launch of Interac® Debit and the migration of the Interac SCD service to the IMN platform, and he continues to provide direction and support to various Interac technology projects.
Carlo is a graduate of the Humber College Data Processing program.


Duane Gomes joined Everlink in February 2007, and was appointed Vice President Finance and Controller in October 2008. In this role, he is responsible for the development of all financial strategies and policies, and the delivery of financial reporting, treasury, budgeting and taxation.
Duane’s financial background is extensive. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, Political Science with Administration from Wilfred Laurier in 1992, and obtained his Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation in 1996. Duane also solidified his financial acumen with a Certificate in Financial Analysis and Investment Management from the University of Toronto in 2005.
Prior to joining Everlink, Duane has held Financial Management and Controller positions at Ventana Clinical Research (now INC Research), Leo Pharma Canada, Triversity, Hummingbird and Rand Technologies.
